Praire Center Market

For this spring’s window, the owner of the store and his wife requested orca whales and spring flowers. A tricky combination that I had to do a lot of trial and error of ideas to achieve the final look. We look to the waters a lot here on the island hoping to see a puff of spray or a black dorsal fin come up and while they do live here, we don’t get to see them as often as one would like, that’s why they’re special. Orcas are pod whales and so I had to have the orcas in pairs swimming and poking their heads up out of the water. Over the water on the mainland we have the Skagit Valley and their famous tulip and daffodil fields that fill with color in the spring, and so i wanted to capture part of thatcolor with dafodils by the sea with the beach down the cliff from where the flowers were blooming.
