This project was an honor to do. Hale’s Kitchen is a taste of the south in the PNW. The owner is a military man who opened this business to bring a taste of his old home, to his new home on Whidbey. He also wanted to dedicate this mural to his fellow servicemen. He was originally from Mobile, Alabama so it was my task to find common ground between two states almost a whole country apart. We both have the ocean and water in common so I took a beach from each location and put it in the text of our respective places. I really loved doing this and hope you can check it out at your next visit to the restaurant.
